Wayne and Coleen Have Baby Boy
England footballer Wayne Rooney and his wife Coleen celebrated the arrival of their first child yesterday after Coleen gave birth to a baby boy at Liverpool Women’s Hospital. They have called their little one Kai Wayne Rooney, said the couple’s spokesman.
Rumours were abound yesterday after Wayne missed his Manchester United training - with many speculating that Coleen had gone into labour.
Kai was born nine days past his due date, so it is understood that doctors made the decision to induce the baby.
The couple got to the hospital not long after 10pm on Sunday, where Wayne stayed with Coleen through the night.
Kai was born at 12.45.
A source close to the couple revealed that Wayne was by his wife’s side throughout, holding her hand and cried with joy when Coleen passed him the baby to hold.
The source said, “Wayne was a star with Coleen.
“He didn’t leave her side from the moment she came into the hospital.
“When Col gave birth, Wayne’s eyes welled up. As soon as he was handed the baby the tears began.
“He was over the moon and was saying “I can’t believe it.’”
The arrival of their little bundle yesterday means it is highly unlikely Wayne will make the game against CSKA Moscow today.
Coleen’s mother Colette McLoughlin and her brother Joe visited the new family at the hospital in the morning.
The fact that Coleen made the decision to give birth in a public hospital was well received after recent criticism of other WAGS opting for private facilities.
