On Sunday Victoria Beckham gave her fashion show presentation as part of New York fashion week.

Initially, not taken seriously by the fashion world when she first made her foray into the arena of fashion design, she now has five successful seasons behind her & despite the recent recession her designs have been a sell out with demand far outstripping supply & the balance sheets to prove it. Figures for November show that orders for her dress collection are 64% higher than last year! Last autumn Beckham was nominated for her first British Fashion Award alongside industry giants.

Five months pregnant with her fourth child, she wore a loose cashmere draped dress for the presentation. Her unique, now familiar style of intimate presentations at which she talks through each design have proved popular with audiences, & inspirational for other designers.

The collection she presented featured longer lengths & pleats, loose draped styles – one featuring over 4 metres of draped fabric - as well as austere shapes – designs that may have been less well received prior to her phenomenal success in the fashion world. She was quoted as saying as much herself: “I’ve had to wait until now to do this. People just wouldn’t have understood it before.” There were four coat designs – all with sleek, skinny arms. One featured a giant buckle at the neck. Vibrant colours such as magenta & saffron featured strongly during her show.

Her designs have garnered her a celebrity clientele who are flocking to buy them; Madonna, Sarah Jessica Parker, Cameron Diaz, Demi Moore & Jennifer Hudson among them. They could be about to be joined by Kate Middleton, whose engagement to Prince William was announced back in November. Beckham is reported to have said that her family have requested to see a selection of dresses from her previous collection. “Apparently, she likes my clothes and has asked to see a selection. It will be from my current spring/summer collection. It’s tremendously exciting and I would be honored if she were to wear my designs. I admire her tremendously. She’s a beautiful young girl, she has a wonderful figure and I think she wears clothes beautifully.”

As well as interest in reporting on her latest designs at New York fashion week, newspapers have been rife with stories speculating on the sex of Victoria & David Beckham’s fourth child. Despite the tabloids claiming that they are expecting a girl this time around, Victoria says they have no idea as yet, though she says her sons are crossing their fingers for another brother! “I can go on the record and say, contrary to rumours, I do not know the sex of my baby. We feel so lucky and so blessed.

“We know what to do with a boy. The kids are excited about having a little brother to teach how to play soccer … But, if it’s a girl, we’d be over the moon as well”

For the first time since entering the world of fashion design, Victoria Beckham’s latest collection has met with almost universal critical acclaim.

Initially, not taken seriously by the fashion world when she first made her foray into the arena of fashion design, she has - after only four seasons - proved herself worthy through the quality of the clothes she has designed and consumer demand for them. There is an almost one hundred per cent sell out at all the international outlets that stock her designs - despite the recession & the huge price tickets - and she now has a celebrity clientele who are flocking to buy them. Among the latter can be numbered Madonna, Sarah Jessica Parker, Cameron Diaz, Demi Moore & Jennifer Hudson.

Rather than showing her collection via a traditional fashion show, Beckham this year decided to make intimate presentations at which she talked through each design. The dresses in the eveningwear collection were inspired by the 1930’s & 1940’s but with a modern twist. She also talked about wanting a much more natural look, moving away from ‘the fake tan & big hair’. There has been some criticism that she used super skinny models to show her collection. However, she has recently joined the campaign against fashion houses using underweight models, & with regard to the criticism levelled at her, claimed that some models were just naturally thin. Beckham has herself faced disapproval in the past regarding her emaciated appearance, which raised questions as to whether she might suffer from an eating disorder. She has always denied this.

She may have started her celebrity life as a singer/performer in The Spice Girls, but Beckham is adamant that fashion design is where she sees her future. Its what she really wants to do. She says she is aware of her shortcomings in terms of technical know how, but that she is prepared to learn the techniques. She is passionate about what she is achieving creatively & says she feels professionally fulfilled by it.

Beckham’s company headquarters are in London where the entire collection is made, but the family are settled in Los Angeles & are not planning to move back to England. With her husband currently out of action in the football world due to an injury of his Achilles’ tendon, it is rumoured that they will be using the time constructively in an attempt to add to the family!

It seems the Beckhams are having a minor disagreement over the timing of having a fourth child.

Victoria, 34 has reportedly told hubby David that there will be no more children while he is living in Italy.

She has supposedly said it’s not feasible for her to have another child while he is living and working in Italy, and she stays home in LA looking after their three sons, occasionally commuting the thousand or so miles to Italy to see him.

She has also admitted that planning for another child is premature when deals as to where he will be working next year have not yet been finalised, saying they need to know where they will be living before having another child together.

Italy Taking the Spice Out of Their Lives?

A source has said: “the baby issue is a bit of a sore point. In Victoria’s eyes it’s not the right time. David’s future with Los Angeles Galaxy is so uncertain that planning for another child is, in Victoria’s eyes, premature. First, they need to sort out where they are going to be living.

“Her refusal has upset David as he feels his life is going in the right direction. He’s loving playing soccer again and what would complete everything for him would be a fourth child.”

David has just had his loan move to AC Milan extended and is trying to make it permanent so that he can still play for England as well.

However, Victoria has admitted she’s reluctant to move to Italy, and is said to be happy and settled in Los Angeles with their three sons – Brooklyn, 10, Romeo, 6, and Cruz, 4. The boys are settled into school, and she’s busy with her growing fashion career.

In the past, she has made it no secret that she would love another child, especially if the next one is a girl, saying: “if it happens, I’d love it. You can’t choose what you have but after three boys I would love a girl.”

Exhausted

However, after spending this weekend in Milan to watch David play, it has surfaced how much flying back and forth is taking its toll on her.

“David feels guilty that Victoria is exhausted and it’s difficult for him to tell her how happy he is. He starts to tell her all the great stuff that’s happening to him and she tells him she’s feeling dreadful. There is a divide and it ends in disagreement,” a source added.

So the real question is: how will the couple reconcile their differences of opinion?

It is rumoured that famous footballer David Beckham is set to buy a £7 million jet in order to commute between his family and his job more easily.

David, now 33 years old, is rumoured to be buying a luxury Bombardier Learjet so that he can spend as much time with his family – wife Victoria, and sons Brooklyn, nine, Romeo, six and Cruz, three, while he is on loan from his current American team, Los Angeles Galaxy, to Italian club AC Milan for eight weeks in January.

According to a source quoted in the Daily Star newspaper: “He’s going to have to sacrifice a lot by moving back to Europe in January. The only thing we can think of is if he either buys or rents his own jet for a couple of months…He’ll be able to fly back to Los Angeles between games and meet up with the family. It might cost a bit but you can’t put a price on time with your children.”

But how does his wife of nine years, famous ex-Spice Girl, Victoria Beckham feel about this?
It is thought that she would prefer him to play for English Premier League team Tottenham Hotspur so that they can be nearer their family in the UK, but according to David: “Wherever I play and whatever I do in my career, she’ll support me. Just because I’m playing in Europe it doesn’t mean the whole family must again re-route.”

Of course, having your own private jet also goes against the rules of major league soccer in the US, which says that players aren’t allowed to travel by private jet so that they don’t seem different from their fans. So if these plans do go through, I wonder how fellow teammates will feel about David’s ‘special treatment’.

Either way, it is also thought that Becks has already found somewhere to live while over in Italy, in the form of a multi-million pound penthouse, thanks to the help of AC Milan captain Paolo Maldini.

It’s alright for some…not that I’m jealous or anything…

Victoria Beckham wants to add to her family, but insists that she’s too busy to do so.

She said: “We would like another child but it won’t be for a couple of years yet.

“I’m not even trying to get pregnant at the moment. I don’t want another baby for two years because I’m working so hard on my fashion business. I haven’t got time.”

Victoria, 34, also revealed she and husband David Beckham, 33, try not to spoil their sons, even though they are sickeningly rich, so that they learn the value of hard work.

She siad: “We both say no to the kids and they don’t get everything they want. It’s nice to treat them but at the same time you don’t want to end up with spoilt little s**s.

“We’re very strict with them, but they’re not the kind of kids who have everything they want when they want.”

The former Spice Gilr says that she is the happiest shes ever been in her life, and is more in love with LA Galxay footballer David than ever.

She said: “David and I still go out on our own and have a real laugh together, I love him more now than I did when we first met.

“I know people sometimes don’t want to believe that we are happy but we are. I couldn’t put on an act all the time. I’m not that good an actress. Have you seen ‘Spiceworld’?!”

Former Spice Girls and UN ambassador Geri Halliwell has attacked her former bandmate Victoria ?posh spice? Beckham?s love of plastic surgery.

The former pop-singer claims her figure is entirely natural and thinks that women who are surgically enhanced, like ?Posh? who has had a boob-job, are ?weird?

She said: “I would never say never to having plastic surgery but at the moment, I don’t like the idea of it. I’ve seen a lot of people who have had a lot of surgery and they look weird.

?They all look the same, as if they have morphed into one.

“I haven’t even had Botox. I don’t want to feel the pressure, to maintain a smooth line-free face and perfect breasts.”

However, Ginger Spice admits she?ll probably have surgery anyway, so what the point of her outburst was is beyond me. All she?s done is p####d off the Wife of footballer David Beckham.

She added to Britain’s Hello! magazine: “There are days when I look at myself and think, ‘You should have that done’, but I am trying to resist it. There’s something inside me that recoils from it that says, ‘You are 35 and you’re not going to be in this industry all the time.

?You need to work on the inside so that shines through first.?”
