Move Over Johnny Depp!

Robert Pattinson has beaten rivals such as Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp to the acclaimed top spot of Britain’s Glamour magazines Sexiest Man In The World list.

The 23 year old actor, who recently became well known after playing the part of Edward Cullen in teen romantic thriller ‘Twilight’, says he isn’t fazed by his new status as a sex symbol.

The Glamour poll asked 2,000 British women to tell them the name of the man they found the sexiest.

Pattinson said: “The hottest actor stuff doesn’t really mean anything. You have a month maybe with all this heat and hype.”

However, more famous hunks such as 46 year old Johnny Depp and 45 year old Brad Pitt came in a respectable second and fifth place in the chart.

Some Fans Take It A Bit Far!

Other sexy males to make it into the top ten are Hugh Jackman – who won People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive last year, as well as famous footballer David Beckham, Zac Efron and old favourite George Clooney.

Playing the role of Edward Cullen in ‘Twilight’ and up-coming sequel, ‘Eclipse’, has led to the young actor having several interesting run-ins with fans who have crushes on him.

He revealed: “People ambush me and try and find out what hotel I’m staying at, as well as wanting to touch my hair. Everyone just screams and screams. It feels surreal.

“Once there were four girls, in Chicago I think, and they had all scratched their necks until they bled. Then when they came up to me they had these bleeding scabs. It was gross.”

Natalie Portman has revealed that she has a crush on 22 year old “Twilight” actor Robert Pattinson.

Natalie split from her boyfriend Devendra Banhart in September and has also been romantically linked to Adam Levine of Maroon 5, as well as Nat Rothschild. But she has been recently seen flirting away with “Twilight” and “Harry Potter” star, Robert Pattinson at the Vanity Fair Oscar party.

An onlooker to the ‘Natalie and Robert show’ said that: “the two totally flirted outside on the patio. Natalie is used to getting what she wants and she dominated Robert’s attentions for most of the evening.”

The Competition!

Though it seems that Mr Pattinson is a bit of a hit with the ladies! Oscars night saw another lady waiting in the wings to capture his attention, in the firm of socialite Paris Hilton.

The 28 year old hotel heiress amazed guests at the Hollywood party when, after having celeb friends and ex-boyfriends help her track him down, she dragged Robert outside for some private time alone together.

Before she led him up the garden path (excuse the bad pun!) the pair were said to be “giggling and in deep conversation” for about an hour, and both seemed completely oblivious to other guests at the party.

Apparently, Paris recently watched “Twilight”, based on the novel series by Stephanie Meyer, in which Robert plays delectable vampire Edward Cullen. She says she fell for the on-screen lovable bad-boy straight away.

“I saw ‘Twilight’ and I have to say that I think Robert is a beautiful man and an amazing actor. He’s fabulous!”

Though she admits that she didn’t initially appreciate the sensation caused by the movie among teenage girls across the US and UK at the end of last year.

She said: “Now I understand all the hype. I just didn’t get it before, but now it all makes sense. I really enjoyed the movie and loved watching Robert in it.”

Though the young actor seems oblivious to his apparent charms that have recently won him awards such as ranking 23rd in Moviefone’s ‘The 25 Hottest Actors Under 25’; and Hello magazines Most Attractive Man Award for 2008.
